What's the Difference Between a Hearing Test & an Advanced Hearing Screening?
A hearing test typically plays a sound at different volumes and asks you whether you can hear it or not. However, this doesn’t provide a complete picture of how you hear. It tells us even less about the best way for us to help you.
Our Advanced Hearing Screening, on the other hand, gathers information about far more than what you hear. It also considers how you hear and why you hear the way that you do.
What Does an Advanced Hearing Screening Involve?
When you visit our hearing centers, our audiologist will conduct a thorough screening of your hearing. Our diagnostic technology includes:

Gathering a Complete Picture of How You Hear
During your initial screening, we will want to know about your history of noise exposure, medical history, other health factors, and family history. We’ll also want to know what type of social environments are you most often in, how you are doing in different hearing situations, and how you are dealing with hearing issues in your life. As your appointment approaches, it’s a good idea to start thinking about these questions.
We recommend you bring a spouse or family member to the screening as they can give important feedback on your hearing difficulties. This information is helpful in developing the best solution for your unique hearing needs.
