Olesia (Alisa) Ivanutenko

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Olesia (Alisa) Ivanutenko obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at George Washington University in speech and hearing sciences, and earned her Doctorate in clinical Audiology from Salus University the George Osborne School of Audiology.

Dr. Ivanutenko-Flit completed her fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she received expertise in comprehensive audiological evaluations of adults and children, including complete assessment of auditory function, vestibular/balance assessment and treatment, and aural-rehabilitation, including amplification evaluation, fitting and orientation.

She is a published author in Care Management Journal. She has experience working in hospitals, ENT offices and private practices with diverse populations. She is skilled in comprehensive audiological evaluations, vestibular and neuro-audiological testing as well as hearing aid evaluations and dispensing. Dr. Ivanutenko is a licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Ivanutenko resides in Brooklyn with her two boys Asher and Isaac and a toy poodle named Brooklyn.

Dr. Sophia Behrmann

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Sophia Behrmann graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Linguistics from Hunter College, and went on to obtain her doctorate in Audiology from the Long Island Consortium, specifically Hofstra University.

Dr. Behrmann has had a long standing passion for audiology and helping people, having served as the Student Academy of Audiology president for her graduate school chapter, and having had amazing chances to hone her skills while participating in such wonderful experiences such as Oticon Camp in Colorado. She completed a fellowship at a private practice specializing in amplification and holds her license as both a Doctor of Audiology and a Hearing Aid Dispenser. She has expertise in the diagnostics and fitting of the adult population with amplification, as well as hearing conservation programs, counseling and aural rehabilitation. She also leads our monthly hearing aid workshop.

Her clinical work encompasses varied settings, from private practices, hospitals, and ENT offices to academic settings. She has given back to the community with her experience in lecturing to various groups including hearing conservation in the teenage population and the importance of auditory stimulus in the prevention of nerve atrophy.

When she is not at Advanced Hearing Center, Dr. Behrmann enjoys roadtrips with her wonderful husband Joe and her lovable dog Conan.

Dr. Patricia Salamone

Audiologist

Dr. Patricia Salamone joined our practice in February 2012. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees from Adelphi University here on Long Island. Patricia maintains professional memberships in both the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.

She is certified in Audiology as well as licensed in New York State as a hearing aid dispenser. Patricia specializes in diagnostic audiology and the evaluation, selection and fitting of digital hearing aids in the adult population.

Jo-Ann Giarraputo

Audiologist

Jo-Ann joined our practice at the Willis Avenue location in October 2014. She is a NYS Licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser and maintains her professional membership in the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Jo-Ann received her B.A. and Master’s degrees from Hofstra University. She has over 20 years’ experience and specializes in comprehensive audiological evaluations as well as the evaluation, selection and fitting of hearing aids and FM systems. She has worked in various settings, providing audiological services to the pediatric, geriatric and special needs populations.

Dr. Ashley Marcus

Doctor of Audiology

As a college student, Ashley became interested in audiology while taking American Sign Language (ASL) classes. She was enrolled in a class with a professor who was deaf and had a cochlear implant. After one semester with the ASL professor, Ashley changed her undergraduate major to Health Sciences.

Ashley earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. She specializes in diagnostics, hearing aids, and aural rehabilitation.

Ashley, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, moved to New York for her residency at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. She enjoys exploring New York City with her friends and family, going on bike rides during the summer and attending concerts.

Kimberly Ramdeholl

Hearing Aid Specialist

Kim is a licensed hearing aid dispenser at Advanced Hearing Center. She graduated magna cum laude from Ohio Dominican University with a B.A. in Social Work. She has worked at Advanced Hearing Center since April 2010 and is proud to be a member of the team.

Transferring her social work skills to hearing healthcare is seamless, as she strives to help our patients move towards better functioning and more social involvement in their daily lives. Kim is very patient and truly enjoys helping our patients feel comfortable and knowledgeable about their hearing loss.

Patient Care Coordinators

Colleen Mahoney

Colleen Mahoney is a patient care coordinator at Advanced Hearing Center, with over 10 years of experience in the medical field in a variety of office environments. Over the years, Colleen discovered that what she enjoys most is working with people. She feels it is her top priority to make sure that each person that comes to Advanced Hearing Center is happy with their office experience.

She says, “I have always had a great interest in the hearing impaired, and feel I have finally found my home. Visit our location, and you will find a great staff who wants to create the ultimate experience for their patients.”

Christine Rossi

My name is Christine Rossi and I am a patient care coordinator at Advanced Hearing Center. I can happily say that I’ve been in the field of hearing health care for 3+ years. Though my journey has brought me on many different paths, I have found that hearing health care is one of the most important things to me. I truly value the impact that we at Advanced Hearing Center have on people’s lives and overall wellness. I can honestly say that I have never worked anywhere that quality of care takes precedence over all else, and I’m proud to say I am part of the Advanced Hearing Center family.

Gabriella York

Gabriella is a recent graduate of Fordham University at Lincoln Center. During her time at school she explored her passions majoring in both Italian language and communications. She has been with Advanced Hearing Center since they added their location on the Upper East Side. She prides herself in customer service as she has worked in this field for the last few years. Gabriella always greets patients with a smile to help them feel warmly welcomed and hope they enjoy their experience at AHC just as much as she enjoys working here!

Telemarketer

My name is Gail Denker and I have been working at Advanced Hearing Center for 17 months as a telemarketer. I have over 25 years’ experience in telemarketing and customer service. I love talking to people and assisting them with all of their hearing needs. My job is making the connection with our patients, helping them experience the professionalism that our office has to offer.

Juliana Carron

Aida Acosta

Patient Recall Specialist

Aida Acosta is a patient recall specialist at Advanced Hearing Center with experience in multiple facets of the medical field including receptionist work and working as a hospital service technician.

Originally studying Sociology at Hunter College, Aida also received a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding in NYS and is currently working on getting her national certification.

Aida prides herself on helping others, having previous experience in school settings, working as an assistant teacher in both public school and special education as well as volunteering at various events and at an after-school special education program as a tutor.

Aida sees Advanced Hearing Center as a great opportunity to help others in a newer field and works hard to make sure that each person that comes to Advanced Hearing Center feels a sense of comfort and happiness.
